The Photographer
Simon lives in Hathersage in the Peak District of Derbyshire and has developed a wide range of images in his Photographic Portfolio.
Commissions have been extensive and include product photography for a Fair Trade Company’s website, a photo shoot in Kenya, photographic images of fine arts work, formal and informal events photography, work for The Times newspaper and the front covers of several books.
Innova Art - manufacturers of digital fine art papers for photography and art - chose exclusively about 25 of my images to showcase at the FESPA Digital 2014 Trade Exhibition in Munich from 20th-23rd May 2014. This show was the largest focused event for digital wide format print and Innova Digital Art was one of more than 400 leading industry exhibitors from across the world.
Innova Art chose about 10 of my images for their trade stand at Photokina 2014 in Cologne in September 2014. This is the world's largest imaging fair with over 1500 trade stands. Several images were then used on their stand at a New York show in October 2014. In September 2017 Innova used several of my images exclusively at the Pingyao International Photography Festival. The event is considered to be one of the top ten of all international photographic events in China and this year was held in the ancient city of Pingyao in Shanxi Province.
Innova Art used several of my images at the 'Photography Show' and at the 'Sign and Digital UK Show' at the NEC, Birmingham in March 2015, March 2016 and March 2017.
Lizzie Ball - violinist and vocalist - used my images on her new CD 'Lizzie Ball Live' in 2017.
Innova Art chose 'Brief Encounter' as one of their product rebranding images at the end of 2014.
'Artsbeat' Magazine - which celebrates the arts across Derbyshire and the Peak District - used 'A Splash of Colour' for its April 2015 front cover as well as a three page article about my work
'Sunrise over Stanage Edge' was chosen as the front cover of the Derbyshire Life magazine 2014 Calendar, with 'Castleton in the Snow' chosen for the January image in the same calendar.
'Gateway to Winnats' and 'Snow Contours' were chosen by the 'Friends of the Peak District' for their 2013 and 2014 Christmas Card pack.
'Gateway to Winnats' was Runner Up for the 'Friends of the Peak District' photo competition at the end of 2012.
'Wheeeee!' - a night time image of a fairground wheel - came first in the 'Your Mission' monthly competition in the February 2013 'Digital Camera' magazine.
'Gateway to Winnats' was shortlisted for the 'Friends of the Peak District' photo competition at the end of 2012.
'Sunrise over Stanage Edge' was used as the cover for 'Peakland Guardian' - the Autumn/Winter 2012 publication from the 'Friends of the Peak District'.
'The Sky Above' was shortlisted for the 'Friends of the Peak District' photo competition at the end of 2011.
'The Last Rays of Daylight' was chosen by Hi-Tec as December 2011’s winning image for their online 'Inspire Me' competition.
'Framed' - an image taken alonside the River Tyne in Newcastle - was 'Highly Commended' in the 2010 'The Art of Building' Competition run by the Chartered Institute of Building. Over 1000 photographers took part in the competition and this image was one of only 12 that were highly commended.

His 'Early Morning Dew' image was chosen as Website Winner of the Month in Issue 74 of ‘Digital Photographer’ magazine.
A selection of about 25 framed prints are on permanent exhibition and for sale (along with mounted images and cards) in the 'Three Roofs Cafe' opposite the Visitors Centre in Castleton, Derbyshire.
